Ibn Taymiyah’s Al-Aqidah Al-Wasitiyah
Join us for a one-time, in-depth Aqidah Intensive covering Al-Aqidah Al-Wasitiyah—the celebrated creed authored by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (رحمه الله). This foundational text offers a clear, balanced articulation of the beliefs of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jamaʿah, rooted in the Qur'an and Sunnah.
Why Al-Aqidah Al-Wasitiyah?
Shaykh Al-Islam ibn Taymiyah wrote what became known as al-’Aqidah al-Wasitiyyah in response to a request from a judge in Wasit, Iraq - hence the title. He asked him to compile a statement of belief that clearly outlined the creed of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama’ah.
Ibn Taymiyah composed it between ‘Asr and Maghrib, presenting the belief of the righteous predecessors without adding or omitting anything. He based it entirely on the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the consensus (ijma’) of the Ummah.
